Mary supports her colleagues in developing clear, compelling, and strategic messages that make complex mental health and substance use topics accessible to key stakeholders.
With a background in public health communications and community engagement, Mary brings a passion for thoughtful, audience-centered storytelling that strengthens understanding and supports healthier communities. Her previous work in roles at the Oklahoma State Department of Health, Scissortail Park Foundation, and the University of Central Oklahoma supported health equity initiatives, trauma-informed care networks, and efforts to reduce barriers to resources with a specific emphasis on food security and nutrition education.
Mary holds a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication from the University of Central Oklahoma. She serves on the Oklahoma Food Is Medicine Coalition, the Urban Agriculture Network, the Oklahoma Local Agriculture Collaborative, and is the acting Vice President of the Oklahoma Compost and Sustainability Association. Mary is also a partner farmer at Commonwealth Urban Farms, an Oklahoma City non-profit organization focused on food security and mutual aid.
