Dana Branham is Healthy Minds’ communications manager, shaping how Healthy Minds tells its story and elevating her colleagues’ research, analysis, and impact.

As a writer, editor, and designer, she strives to make the complex accessible, ensuring Healthy Minds’ communications reach and resonate with key audiences across multiple channels. She is the organization’s point of contact for media inquiries, connecting reporters with Healthy Minds’ subject-matter experts on a range of mental health topics. She is also responsible for the organization’s graphic design and branding across publications, data visualizations, presentations, and social media content.

Dana is a former journalist with reporting and audience engagement experience. Before joining Healthy Minds in 2023, she was The Oklahoman’s health reporter, covering the pandemic and its impact on Oklahomans’ mental health. She previously worked at The Dallas Morning News as a breaking news reporter, covering public health, crime, and courts, often focusing on domestic violence.

As an intern at the Cincinnati Enquirer, she contributed to a Pulitzer Prize-winning project that documented the devastation of the region’s heroin epidemic over one week in 2017.

Originally from College Station, Texas, Dana has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma.
