In December 2020, Healthy Minds Policy Initiative releases the first in a multi-part policy research series exploring the state of Oklahoma’s behavioral health workforce, its greatest needs, and areas of action and considerations for 2021 and beyond.
Initial findings detail needs in specific behavioral health professions and geographic areas, but suggest that taking advantage of Oklahoma’s relatively-abundant supply of primary care physicians to increase mental health care access could be part of an overall solution.
Future releases will detail suggested action areas, COVID-19 and Medicaid expansion considerations.
