COVID-19 has shed light on the importance of mental health support in the business world. Despite recognizing the need for workplace mental health support, many employers struggle with knowing where to find these critical resources. Our July 2021 Mental Health Talks forum examined the role of mental health support services in Oklahoma workplaces and explored how Oklahoma employers can support employees through evidence-based practices. Panelists for this forum included Dr. Elissa Adame (ASU), Allie Friesen (INTEGRIS) and Amanda Burnside (ODMHSAS).
The forum took a deeper look at how some Oklahoma industry leaders have emphasized workplace wellness, creating actionable steps for other local businesses looking to invest in employee mental health. By bringing together industry leaders and mental health experts, the forum underscored the benefits of supporting these practices for Oklahoma’s businesses and economy from low employee turnover to overall cost savings.
