Millie Carpenter serves as Healthy Minds' Community Initiatives Coordinator for Central Oklahoma, shaping local community responses to mental health and substance use matters.

Millie comes to Healthy Minds with over 30 years of public service, coordinating efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in need of supports through Oklahoma Human Services. Among several leadership positions, Millie served as a deputy director and as interim director for Child Welfare Services with a team over 3,000 to advance the safety and well-being of Oklahoma’s children. She served as a Deputy Director of Developmental Disabilities Services focused on efforts to increase access to Medicaid waiver services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Most recently, Millie served as the chief innovation officer for a nonprofit focused on residential treatment services for youth and outpatient mental health services for youth and adults. She is actively involved in the Cleveland County Post Adjudication Review Board, among other community volunteer activities. Millie received her bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma.
