Percentage of Admissions for State-funded Treatment for Methamphetamine
Methamphetamine is the top drug of choice in Oklahoma. In response to the steady increase in the number of people entering treatment for methamphetamine, a plan is developing to both treat and prevent methamphetamine use.
Across Tulsa County, Oklahoma County, and Oklahoma statewide, the percentage of admissions to ODMHSAS-funded substance abuse treatment for primary methamphetamine use has increased substantially, with twice as many methamphetamine-related admissions in 2018 than in 2012. In Tulsa County, the percentage of admissions attributed to methamphetamine use has been lower than the percentage for Oklahoma statewide, but typically higher than the percentage for Oklahoma County.
